    John,

    Sure looks good to me.
Great markings and nice crisp image.
    (Nice looking gun!)

One of the hard things I find... is to try and capture the actual accurate colour of the finish on a pistol......what it looks like when you are holding it in front of you...before the photo is taken.

That is one of the great challenges I find....particularly with a high polish blued piece. There are also subtle colour differences with parkerized guns.
Part of the ongoing photographic quest I guess.

Have fun with your new camera...I have been using an older model Sony DSC-H5 for a few years now...and am still learning about it.

This is the best that I could do trying to capture the Mauser blue finish on this 1938 manufactured KM marked Model 1934.

The key to good digital photography is the lighting! You must use bulbs of the correct heat range. I use flourescent sunlight bulbs, GE Chroma 50s. They are as close to natural sunlight as I can find, and still I find that on some shots I have to use PhotoShop to correct the color....

I will shoot one side, turn the gun over and shoot the other side and they will come out differently, aaaargh!!!!!!! It can be frustrating, also the background must be complementary to the object. To much contrast will cause problems.. It is an ongoing learning experience to say the least. Still, it is much better than using film!

I also have a SONY DSC-H7 that I keep in the car, however I sure like the new H20!!!

Here is another example from the new H20...
