my ex brother in law worked for Ebay, guy was a dolts, and had no clue what a slide, op rod,
M1A1 or anything else was for that matter.
+1
I had a few auctions pulled for wording, even with a polite note in the listing for the ebay police (***this is a california legal item, ebay police please do not pull etc etc***)
I've learned, when selling an item that they may think is verboten, to be vague in description, and title, and then post a link to a lot of pics, (ebay pictures cost too much, I usually link to photobucket)

Well I called ebay today..essentially ditto to your comment except!! The guy I talked to said that if I found an item "similier" to my "banned" Carbine slide ebay would appreciate it if I filed a complaint with ebay so they could investigate it.
My response to that caused him to hang up on me..oh well..I may have killed my other three auctions with my comment. Time will tell.

i was one of the watchers, i got ****ed off, i thought you struck a deal on the side.....DAMN EBAY

Mike,
Another scenario,
It's very possible that someone who had a 'similar item' reported yours'...
thus eliminating their competition.
Keep in mind that Ebay will go to lengths to protect their big sellers like ABC and squash the smaller guys with no hesitation.
Have you EVER seen any type of DISCLAIMER as described above with in the text of a description listed by ABC?

Philly - I appreciate your posting your comment. Your initial thought is entirely understandable. Did eBay email you saying my auction was removed because it was a "banned" item or did it just disappear??

Charlie - I thought about that after talking to the Ebay dude today.I've got a 100% rating with 512 responses and about 700 total transactions over about eight years.
I tend to think it was an over zealous ebay auction screener I'm still as it can affect my eBay reputation. (See Philly's comment above).
Philly saw this thread but what about the other six guys watching?? -one of which was a bidder! Not to mention the folks that are watching/bidding on my other auctions?
I'll continue to sell on ebay simply because I offer a variety of items other than firearm related stuff...but... if your theory is correct I'd love to meet him. Somebody would be doing a "chicken-dance"..

Ebay And Paypal
I have wondered about the ethics of the fact that Ebay owns Paypal, Ebay requires you take paypal, so they get paid commission twice for the same item. Sure sounds like a conflict of interest to me.

Oh yeah the dimwit I talked to also told me to drop dime on other sellers. eBay blows.
