No! SMLE, Ross, P1914, and No4/5 rifles each are peculiar to themselves. Even in each group don't expect interchangability from rifle to rifle. You'll be best served measuring a fired case from multiple rifles to get a feel for the differences.

    So, why the question?

yes, ford power. that was the first internet site i signed up for. i just recently got a p14 and am comparing the brass from it to the brass fired in the #4. i think the p14 is a much tighter chamber. been reloading so i am interested in the case life. thanks

I just neck size cases about 3/4 the way, provided they'll be going back into the same rifle. Every once in a while they will need a bit more sizing, it depends on what task the rifle is facing: Across the course, bench work, CQB/rapid fire, hunting, etc.

The angled locking lugs of the P1914 will smash into shape almost any case that will fit close enough that the bolt will start the turn down stroke, its roughly 100:1 leverage! The No4 won't stand as much abuse, but it will still partially size cases w/ a bit of effort. (This isn't recommended except for slow fire stuff!) For safety, just make sure that overall case length is under max specified in the manual.

BTW Haven't played w/ cars for a while, now, but I used to be up to my eyeballs in '60s Mustangs, particularly '67-69s.
