    Kar98a Value?

Just got back from helping setup at the local gunshow. One rifle was a Amberg made, 1909 Kar98a that appeared to be all-matching. Any idea of the value of one of these?

If it's correct, it's at least a $700 rifle, depending on condition. Possibly a lot more too.

saw a k98a, forget year, but it was a danzig I believe for 650 at the september gun show here in Calgary. Was mostly matching, aside from a few bolt parts and a part of the flip up sight. I passed on it because I had money tied up else where.

But it sure was hard walking away from it...

BTW Stevo, was the seller a gentlemen with a Heavy german accent?

if thats the case, the fireing pin isnt matching, neither is the fireing pin lug, and the screw holding the barrel band looks mighty odd. Other than that, a very nice rifle.

That's the guy, Sigismund. He had a lot of interesting milsurps and grossly overpriced milsurp ammo.

That guy is always at the Edmonton show as well, can't remember his name right now though. Most of his stuff is usually overpriced like you guys mentioned but once and awhile you can find something good on his table. I got my matching Kriegsmarine K98icon bayo from him for $100 which was a good deal. Most of his rifles have seen a lot of use though for sure....

Yep, he's a gun show regular. I have actually passed on that rifle twice. If anyone recalls, I started a thread about this exact rfile after the easter show in calgary.

Despite being a nice rifle, I just cant see myself paying 650 for it. 500 maybe.

Funny thing is, this guy never lowers his prices. He simply refuses to haggle, which is half the fun for me
