A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. The word Bren doesn't do them justice does it. That's why I always describe them as the MAGNIFICENT Bren. Longest continually sering biot of kit in the Britishicon Army, even outlasting the Vickers.

I never fail to savour the moment every time I have to use one in case it's the last. 10 rounds of single shots, followed by short bursts........... followed by a magazine of two bursts. I let my wife have a go a couple of months ago to see why it's better than sex. The earth didn't move...............

    Serial number of it Mk7?

I've been trying to find some paperwork which might tell me - memory says it was in the BE-range.

That's a late Mk1, not many more made after this, I only have one later serial number on my list and that's a BG serial number.

I seem to think that BH-xxxx prefixes were the last of the Enfield Mk1's

BH883 is supposed to be the last but I've not seen any of the BF, BG and BH numbers my self.
