    Sile Forend Rail Mount

    Hello All,

I am building a heavy barrel 7.62 target rifle from a barrel and forend that I purchased on Gunbroker.

The forend was made by Sile and is a very heavy and beautiful piece of wood. It has a very wide and flat profile and has a slot cut on the underside for a rail mount. I want to find and install a rail mount in order to put a palm rest or bipod mount on the rifle.

I need to know if anyone has an idea of the rail mount that would fit this application? The wood has the slot cut in it and I can not find a rail mount through Midway or Brownells that would fit the slot.

What I am looking for is similar to this:

KENG'S FIREARMS : UIT (ANSCHUTZ) RAIL MOUNT - World's Largest Supplier of Firearm Accessories, Gun Parts and Gunsmithing Tools

The slot dimensions are as follows: 1/2" wide and 6 7/8" long. Slot is round cut on the ends with two holes drilled about a 5/16" from each end.

Thank you in advance for your help,

    Brian B

Dimensionally that is identical to a rail I've got on a Longbranch 7.62 target rifle forend, the one shown at Brownells has a 'slot' running the length of it but mine has 11 threaded holes (it also has the hand-stop that fits into it) for mounting bipod, or whatever.
I bought the rifle for 'spares'
The rail, Mk2 forend, handguard and hand-stop are just in my bits-box so drop me a pm if any parts are of interest and we'll sort out a deal.

Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...
