A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. There should be a lot of classic guns, see

    Arms Heritage

My club, the HBSA, will have a stand, as will some dealers such as Chris Smith who have a good stock of .303s etc.

I too would love to go, but someone in our deer group who shall remain nameless booked Thetford ranges the same day, and it's a compulsory shoot. Still, at least I'll be shooting.

Well, we went on saturday and had a jolly good time. Lots of "heritage arms" to drool over and photograph.

Oh blip, here's the proof. I'll post some piccies in a new thread in the .22 forum.

Simon, I only joined this forum after visiting the show, but what a pity the rifles on the Lovat Society stand were at least 12 feet back from the front of the stand. I wanted to drool properly but at that distance it was kinda hard!

Thought the show was dissapointing (Enfield wise), apart from Chris Smith & the Lovatt there was a distinct shortage of Enfields - Oh - yes the Bedford arms had a solitary 4T for sale.
Plenty of shotguns and a small number of sporting rifles.
Wanted to buy 7.62 ammunition - couldnt find a single seller.
Two companies selling bullets and powder, neither had 7.62.

There were 5 halls under the banner 'Gunsmiths' - I reckon you could have fitted all the 'gunsmiths' in one small hall. The rest were all clothing, clay pigeon traps, knives, magazine publishers etc etc.
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...
