    OT- C&R License Renewal Question

Question 7.b. of the FFL and C&R renewal application asks " How many firearms have you sold or disposed of with your firearms license over the past 3 years. If none, enter '0'."
In this C&R period (I do not have FFL) I have sold 3 (2 C&R and one not C&R). All were shipped to a receiving FFL dealer. So, were these shipped "with" my C&R license?? Is the answer to the question "3" or "0"? THANKS

    ...

If you have an 03 FFL, The two C & R guns should have been logged out, in your book. The entry would be 2. The non c & R gun has no bearing.

Rereading your post, you said you don't have a licence? Is that right, you do not have an 03 license? If you don't and you're applying for a licence, you are using the wrong form (the renewal form, not the application form).

I have a C&R license only. ATF sent me Form 8 to renew it. Question 7.b. is as stated above. In the last 3 years I have sold 3 firearms (2 C&R and 1 non C&R). All three were sent to an FFL at the receiving end with the non C&R firearm sent from a local FFL(not me). So did I sell 0,2, or 3 firearms "with" my C&R license? All transactions were logged.

Jughead, as Limpetmine indicated, you would show 2 guns that were disposed of through your C&R and would match those in your book. You should not have logged in the non-C&R gun you sold, as it falls outside the C&R criteria (assuming this gun was not C&R eligible and was transferred to an FFL by your FFL). Keep in mind the C&R is only to facilitate shipping/receiving C&R eligible firearms directly to your address for the purposes of collecting or disposing of your collection. Hope this helps.

    right

The answer is 2. Do not log non C & R firearms in or out of an 03 log book.
They don't like that. The 03 FFL is for C & R firearms only; 01's and antiques have zero bearing on the 03 license, 03 log book or anything else. The question they are asking relates to C & R firearms. HTH

Further questions on this subject. I am about to send my renewal in. I have logged 6 C&R firearms in my book. I purchased 5. One purchase I made had to be return to the importer (Century) due to it not being functional, wich they replaced with a functional one (same make, model). 1st did I properly log in my book by listing the original broken firearm that I sent back for replacement? I figured I better log it as I had received it and logging was a CYA. Second, now on question 7a on renewal would I list 6 and on 7b list 1, even though I really did not sell or dispose of it, I just returned it for replacement with a working/non broken firearm?
