    Long Lee prices

Looking ahead, I would like to think a Long Lee Enfield (MLE) would come into my possession.

They don't come up all that often, though, so I'm trying to get a sense of how many dollars I need to put away for that day when one turns up.

I'm also looking for advice on what to watch out for with these rifles. Missing parts that may be impossible to source, parts that wear, etc.

Where are you located? Price and availability will change depending where you "is". (US, Canadaicon, Australiaicon, etc. all use "dollars")

Are you intending on shooting it w/ any expectation of accuracy? OR not shooting it at all?

    Good questions.

I'm located in Canadaicon and, yes, I would shoot it. I'd be looking for a complete rifle with a relatively good bore. Matching numbers, ideally, but not museum-quality.

    Hope that helps.

You are well out of my area! Rifles w/ good bores have been tough to find at any price, but others may be of more service.

Are you still looking for a Long Lee Enfield? If so, what would you be willing to pay for a really nice CLLE? Fred

I found a Long Lee, thanks. As for values on a CLLE, I'm not in a position to answer that, but I'm sure others here can.

For one of those, prices will be in four digits unless you are VERY lucky. You are looking for a rifle that is over 100 years old!
Funny thing, I got most of mine out of Canadaicon. Even years ago, they were NOT cheap.
Many were chopped up for "Sportin rifles"
