    I have it saved in my address book. The address that is displayed is Rolling Block failures, Rolling Block blow up, 1867 Rolling Block.

    I would have never thought you could blow a rolling block. Guess I was wrong. The most impressive on the site was the 7mm RB, which had the barrel split lengthwise like a boiled sausage. Kinda makes you think ...

    I have one of these RBs that I used to shoot. I retired it after getting an 1871 new york state issued rifle. Mine could use a new block and hammer so untill I make repairs it will sit in the closet. As a side note, The barrels on these .50 cal rolling blocks run VERY tight. Mine has a .506 groove diameter and a.482 bore. I can imagine some very high pressures being generated with the wrong cartridge and a hard bullet.
