Super Deal For The Right Person

I am looking for an original finish US&S slide. (yeah I know, I know, good luck) Thats why I need to use the right bait.
I am ready to trade a 1918 dated Colt M1911 for the US&S slide. EVEN !
The pistol has (except for the finish, original parts.*) Gun's been re-parked,
    but it's a great shooter.

*The barrel is an SA ww2 replacement w/bright shiney bore.

Just be aware that there are three different slide variations on the US&S pistol. Early with no P on top, middle serial range with P on top but over to the edge and type three with the P in the middle of the top, by the rear sight.

Nice looking pistol. That 22.5 % buyers premium hurts though... What is involved in owning a pistol like that in the U.K. now? I assume its possible under sections 5 & 7 as quoted in the auction site...

To own it in the Uk because of the Calibre, ammuntion is readily available it would have to be held under section 7.3 at as secure designated site, if it were in .455 Eley and manufactured before 1st January 1919, it may be kept at Home under Section 7.1. The exception are dealers with section 5 Authority. My Webleys are all held under section 7.1.

We have strange draconian laws when it comes to historic pistols that make no sense.

Why mix a Type I slide, with a Type III frame.... or whatever. Anyone with any basic knowledge of US&S production would spot the incorrect componentry.
