Bought my third Nagant today but paid a bit more than $79 for this one. 1922 hex receiver Tula with matching numbers including the bayonet this time and mostly Tula parts. Cost $119 which seems typical for the hex recievers. This one also has the brass fittings. Will probably leave this one pretty much alone. Will clean the stock up but am not going to sand this one down. I've come to the conclusion there is only so much you can do to improve the looks of these stocks so I'm not even going to try with this one. Will probably remove the varnish though and after getting the cosmolineicon out may re-varnish it, or not, depends what it looks like.

Was a bit disappointed at the gun show. Not many guys with Nagants, most were over priced. One guy was selling round receiver war rifles for $99 which isn't terrible but I saw one as high as $300 and it was just a common round receiver rifle. One guy was selling full cases of 20 hex receivers for $2000. Seemed pretty pricey for a full case at $100 each.

Two repro sniper rifles, no originals. Half a dozen Finnishicon rifles, mostly in the $300+ range.

I have three Nagants, only one has a bayonet with matching numbers. Probably tough to get this from Dunhams or Cabelas as they ship as a case and these distributers then put them in boxes and toss in the accessories without looking at the bayonet numbers. Even the matching number bayonet didn't fit well. These are re-arsenaled and re-numbered as well. To get them to fit, get a piece of sandpaper and roll it so that it is small enough to fit inside the socket. Then sit and watch TV while you twist it for an hour or so. Change the sandpaper periodically. If you use a file or something "powered" like a dremel, you might get an irregular fit. The sandpaper takes time but it takes away the excess metal uniformly and will result in a nice tight fit when you get it right. I've done it to three of them.
