Scope is a old Weaver K4 with Weaver low rings.

I'm working on a similar set-up. I already have the S&K mount, and a 1960's Weaver K4-60B post-and-cross-hair scope is on the way.

Right now I'm trying to find a set of rings that will work with the S&K on my Eddystone. Found that a classic Weaver Sure-Grip ring like yours interferes slightly with the Eddy's sight ears at the rear of the mount. Same is true with Leupold PRW rings.

I'm hoping that a set of Burris Signature Zee rings or Weaver Grand Slam rings, which are not as bulky, will install without interfering with the sight ears.

Edited to add:
I ended up going with a set of Burris Signature Zee rings, the only rings I could find that would fit without touching my Eddy's sight guards where the ears begin to sweep up toward the back.

The Burris Z rings are the way to go (thanks Chuck). Mine came Monday and fit and look much better than the weaver rings. They do place the scope a bit higher than the weaver rings, but it is still at a decent height. unfortunately it will be a couple of weeks until I will get to try it out.

they are tough rings, the only ones that wouldnt slip on my 500 S&W.
still have yet to find a scope that will hold together.

I shot my scoped M1917 today.Did pretty well,hit a 12x16 steel,5 out of 5 times at 400 yrds.Biggest problem I see is making some sort of pad to raise my head up a bit.It is a bit awkward shooting without being able to weld my cheek to the stock.Any ideas?

Should have a similar rig as soon as my Weaver post & cross-hair K4 60B arrives.
Although I'm very happy with the original M1917 peep sights, a scoped "sniper" variant will come in handy for deer hunting and the rifle is easily convertible back to original.

Brownells has a couple different strap on cheek rest. It would be nice to find one that didn't require any holes in the stock. If the Garand one doesn't work out, I may try the leather one here.

Well, If you want to look period with your rifle, put on a wooden cheek rest a la No4 Mk1(T) sniper rifle.

In .303 the Enfield P14 or No3 Mk1(T) sniper rifles re used with a wooden cheekrest and Aldis scope.

For a time my M1917 Winchester was mounted like that with S&K scope mount as well and bushed rings for a Lyman Alaskan.

Now, I have reverted back to a PH5B target sight. That Winnie shoots really well.

That wood cheek rest sounds interesting,is it something that is readily available,or do I have to make something like that?
I like tricksters first picture too,that made of leather would look and function(hopefully)very good,and being hand made,one could customize the height of the pad.Thank you sirs,for the good ideas,keep em coming.
