    Enforcer Safety

Does anybody have a spare Enforcer safety for sale or trade? Must be original design. Any question on availability and cost? Ron

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. They're around, mostly on ex-target No4s or in the hands of ex-DCRA shooters/gunsmiths. But then you probably know that. Bob Barwise in NS maybe?

Just wondering why an Enforcer safety would end up on a target No4 or a DCRA conversion ?
The 'special' safety was only needed to replace the 'standard' safety because the mounting bracket on the PH5E/4 moved the sight rearwards ( about 3/4" compared with a PH5C or AJP 4/47) which meant it 'fouled' on the original safety.

I cannot see why anyone would change the safety from the original on a 'normal' target rifle, where either a PH5C or a scope would be fitted.
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

I've never seen one on anything but an Enforcer due to the Parker Hale 5E mounting configuration. Would most likely come from a tear down. Realize that there weren't many out there in the first place. EFD were looking at reproducing these however I've been told it's not an immediate project. If anybody has a genuine one pls let me know.

Must have been in a hurry: for some reason I thought he was asking for a spare Enforcer barrel.
