    Canadian 9 pocket ammo carrier

Received this a week of so ago. Does any one have info on the markings?

Leather is in very nice condition, did these have the little leather belt straps in the back like the 5 pocket ones?

    Thanks forthe help.

This type appears to have been intended to go round the horse's neck.
What gives you to believe it's Canadianicon? Does that say CFA, we can't really see.

I was told it was Canadian Field Artillery - yes it is marked CFA. It came from Canadaicon. I'll get better pics.

I'm not sure, but it looks to be the same pattern as the ALH bandoliers.

The nine-pocket bandoleers were for cavalry. The change authorizing the second nine-pocket bandoleer on the horse's neck didn't come about until 1915. They were originally part of the P-1903 equipment set. The five-pocket was for dismounted troops (infantry). CFA - Canadian Field Artillery. Same bandolerr used by Britishicon, Australiaicon, Canadaicon and others. Pattern 1903 Bandolier Equipment Bandoliers
