A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. I'm a little confused, maybe the lack of punctuation is the problem ?

....Parker Hale sight serial number 75C7805..... ?
Assume you mean the rifle is serial number 75C7805 in which case its a Savage No4 Mk1* (not a MK1)

"...crown BM then bnp with a crown and a i have pics 19T front sight marked john wilkes precision ...."

Is the 19T with the crown / BNP proof mark ?
If it is then it is a 7.62 but the calibre should be marked on the action or barrel near the knox form.

Its not an L39 unless it says L39 on the left hand side of the action.

Please clarify exactly what you have then we may be able to offer some constructive comments.

If this is the one you have listed on the auction it is not an L39A1. The receiver and bolt are marked Savage with matching serial numbers. Does not look like the bolt head is marked 19T either. Stock does not look like the L39A1 type either, front past the band is odd looking. Not sure what you have there.

    Looks to me....

I've seen the pictures, and can tell you that the "Regulated by Fulton" looks correct, looks like the stamp on my No. 4 Conv. (engraved as such on the receiver). This rifle may be a commercial target rifle, made for purchase and use by non-military types. As noted on an earlier thread here, about the Austrialian 7.62 x 51 conversions, after much testing had determined that the Savage receiver could withstand about 15-20% higher proof (may be a little off on the percents) than the others, so many times would use the Savage frame to build a target rifle on. Looks like it might shoot a good group. A tad overpriced, but that's between you and the buyer. An L-39 would go for that. atb,
