Back to My Barrel Band Question

Rich, one of the members on this forum known as rpw7351 donated a swival for my, is it, or, is it not Type 2 Band. And Rich, thank you again. I dont care if it is, or if it isn't, My question is how do you get exhibit B back onto Exhibit A without screwing up either of them. I'm getting better answers off of this forum than I can find in a book. Can the loop for the swival be bent out, and swival installed and tap loop back in, or will it screw it up. And if that cant be done I guess the swival would have to be cut, placed into the loop and then welded, and re-parkerized. I know there are some very knowledgable members on here that have probably run into this situation before.

Its a cut-down type III band, so there's very little value there. I'd say bend the band's loop, insert the wire, and bend it back.

    Just my $0.02, though. YMMV.

Cut exhibit B through on the part that attaches to the band

bend it and place in the loop in the band, bend it back to its original shape. The cut portion will be hidden inside the barrel band loop and it will be strong enough for its intended purpose, no welding required. Lucky for you it is modifying a $20 part and not a $200 original.
