    Combat!

While everyone seems to be on the barrel band subject, I thought I'd blab a little.

I seem to remember a thread talking about the "incorrectness" of the carbines used on "Combat!".

I've been watching season 1, start to finish, and I have seen all 3 types of barrel bands. Even caught Rick Jason carrying a carbine with a type 1 band through a doorway in one scene, come through the other side of the door in the very next scene carrying a carbine with a bayonet lug!

Never the less, a great show! Love the weapons, even seen a '03 Springfield one time!

I love that show. I ahve every episode on DVD. You ever notice how they are always in the same towns, but they have different names? They did not break the bank on sets.

I think the "Memories" show on the set said something like $125,000 a show is what they had to work with.

I'm only about 5 shows into the first season. I'm really impressed with the acting.

Whats the story on Vic Morrow? Heard something about an untimely death.

    Vic Morrow Death

    Mike d,

Vic Morrow died while filming a scene for I believe the Twilight Zone movie. There was a helicopter scene and something went wrong. He and two Vietnamese children were killed. If memory serves me right this was in the late 80's, but my memory don't serve me right too much anymore.

Desert rats was a show about about a long range jeep patrol (like SAS) with two Willy's with 50 cal M2s on them. Lasted two seasons, I think. The most memorab le part was when someone was hit with thew .50 BMG, they grabbed the wound as if shot with a 22.
