    Hey,
I'm just getting into shooting and I'm preparing to buy my first gun once my PAL comes in. I'm looking at an SVT-40 as my first purchase, and I'm wondering about the avail of the 7.63x54, my buddy shoots a mosin, but almost all reloads afaik.
any help on avail and approx pricing would be greatly appreciated.

I too am looking for 7.62 X 54R milsurp. Tons in the USAicon very cheap but only commercial here now and too expensive for having fun. Strange the Americans have it and are short of 7.62 X 39 which they are now being asked to pay too much for? Go figure so if Anyone knows please send me a PM so I can get some before everyone else buys it. LOL

I have been buying privi patisan 7.62x54r for my SVT-40 in Calgary whenever I could find it. At present I can not find any, when you do find some buy lots. P&S guns and Militaria in Quebec has the Privi partisan ammo, unfortunately they do not ship. good luck in the search.

I have very poor luck with any 7.62x54r surplus ammo I have been able to find, corrosive and more like rejected than surplused inconcsistant searing depthj, crimping depth and charge of powder. I ended pulling the bullets and discarding the rest.

GRF, fair amount of Privi where I live but no surplus. We have had good luck with the surplus we had before but now it is all gone. Keep hearing that more surplus is on the way and I only hope.

enfeild303t, what shop are you buying the Privi Partisan from? I was buying mine from Russells but they were rolled into wholesale sports and the privi is no longer appearing on the shelves. Thanks GRF
