ulflyer, I appreciate the offer, and if I ACTUALLY do that, I will go to people I trust like the members of this forum to help.... thank you.

    But on the other hand....

this was the best way for me to get a good laugh at what was SOOOOOOO obvious!!

How do you know if a politician is lying? His lips are moving....

How do I know if there are fake parts in California? They are posted on GB...

Time for a cup of coffee, but I won't be drinking it while surfing auction sites - I don't want to spew it all over my keyboard when I see some of the junk posted

You notice he never claims it is an IP, just that it is marked IP!

    Mike,

I bought my first carbine part from him several years ago under his eBay alias and he is a nightmare to deal with. It was only a $20 part, and I wrote him a nice email and I said he probably didn't realize it was not authentic.

After receiving 4 or 5 nasty, threatening emails I was just happy to be rid of him.

I got the itch to acquire an IP back a few years ago. I couldn't afford an ultra-rare original piece (assuming there are any out there) so I figured that I'd do it on the installment program. I actually managed to get all of the parts needed to put one together save for the receiver. That last piece has constantly eluded me and I've given up. I've had 3 receivers in my hands and all them were either faked up or unrestorable. Some things just aren't meant to be and I figured that I was getting a message after strike 3.

I have had problems leaving negative feedbacks for some of the Ebay big time sellers. Last year I bought a "used GI D tip sling and IS oiler (it showed real ones in the picture). When I got them they were new cheap Chinese knock offs, not even close to the real ones in the picture. He never answered my requests for refund. I tried to leave a negative feedback, but it did not show up. Imagine that. It was not George, but it was another person with a bunch of feedbacks. Ebay looks after their cash cows.

You're right, it isn't easy but someone will do it if there is money to be made. And in IPs, there is. I actually got one that had the rear sight dovetail milled down to remove stake marks. If I hadn't had Harrison's book, where another such abortion was pictured, then I would have been stuck with it. What I encountered more frequently was the convenient omission of certain interesting facts, such as import marks, reparkerizing, etc. It just ain't worth the hassle.

    Retired,
I see the same seller still has that ultra rare IP Trigger Housing.
It's the one with the WIDE REAR MAG WALL and NO FRONT BEVEL.
Note..... the freshly ground side and like new IP stamp.
Would go great with his IP buttplate.

M1icon Carbine Trigger Housing marked "IP" : Other at GunBroker.com
