Yeah, it really puts the brakes on spontaneous buying - which is the intention of the legislation.
On the other hand, it forces you to check out the rifles before you waste your allowance and collect a lot of poor quality stuff!

    Patience Gunner, patience! 2 in half a year x 50 years = 200. (I don't think I'll manage that)

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. People who do not live in Mauserland may be interested to know that the 6-month rule is applied quite rigorously. So if you get a dud, and then want to sell it to get something better -tough luck, you still have to wait. There is no "credit" for disposing of what you already have.
    Ought to be, of course.
    But there isn't!
