People can pay $100 if they want, but better deals are out there. Note the last two GunBroker links, they are for the same mag with a nice little profit for the re-seller (last link). Incidentally, two of these auctions are ones I won, including a $25 SEY that is like new and a $19 J that is on its way.

There were some $65-85 auctions for USGI 30-rounders on GB too and I noticed a 30-rounder priced at $100 that just doesn't seem to sell no matter how many times the dude puts it back on the block.

It sounds like you got some good deals, dnikkor
    (Smart shopping!)

Not sure of the accuracy, but I have he 'J' and 'J' (underlined) as authentic USGI markings for mags made by B. Jahn Manufacturing.

I get tired of all the ridiculously priced auctions (of all types) that clog up GB where people re-list for literally years sometimes fishing for a mullet.
I wish they'd come up with some kind of policy where an item could only be listed a few times before sellers have to pay a fee.

    dnikkor,
    You've done very well.
Remember how high they were just before and slightly after the election?
Or 3-4 years ago with the big CMPicon release.
    Maybe just some frenzy buying.
Times are getting tough.......am seeing some cheaper prices when you can take the time and watch. Some just can't wait and watch........ gotta have it ASAP !
The hardbacks still tend to bring in good money and rightly so.
I couldn't survive gun show prices......... It's the GB auctions and the parts hidden between the pages with odd ending times that save me. Along with the freshly listed items with the low 'Buy it Now' option and being able to swap with good people like found on this forum.
Just a couple nights ago I linked (I think) 4 pages of GB carbine mags to a new fellow member.
I still have boxes of mags I bought back when you could still buy them on Ebay. More than I'd ever need but most are just too nice to use. I tend to use a handful of beater mags that function well to save any wear on the collectible ones. But sometimes you just can't be happy if you haven't bought something CARBINE !!

    Thanks,
    Charlie-painter777

    Harlan,
Do you recall the seller Hooah (sp?) on GB. He started out selling carbine parts at very fair prices. Now he's one that expects $150 for a SG or S'G' 15 rd mag. Some have been listed for what seems like a year and a half.
I agree by charging for relisting after 2-3 go arounds it might bring the costs down or at least clear off a few pages. I can't sit here long enough to skim thru all the carbines and parts on GB in one evening.

    Take Care Buddy,
    Charlie

    Charlie,

Yes, I remember him, and I agree with you. He became greedy when he discovered that some people will pay insane prices for a part they 'think' they need, and he re-lists over and over with outrageous prices looking for someone desperate.

It's the same all over GB these days in every category and sellers re-list over and over with insane auction prices.

"You know who" keeps re-listing his fake items over and over too. (Hi George)

I'm happy some buyers keep trying and get good, fair deals, but I for one, have quit looking most of the time. It's just not worth my time, or much fun anymore to sift through the same stupid ads in categories I used to search through.

GB has become similar to picking up those free magazines printed on pulp paper you find on racks at the convenience store for used cars, hotrods, etc, and sellers can post free ads with stupid prices.

I'm glad to see you're working your butt off again Charlie! (You aren't happy any other way!)

You just gotta keep your eyes open. No sense paying any more than you have to.

My understanding is that both J and J were made by B. Jahn. And I sure agree with you on the absurdity of some of the sellers. Some guy has a maybe $100 canvas carbine case listed for $400! I have seen this same auction up for at least a year, still waiting for that fool who wants to part himself from his money.
