A Few Rock-Ola questions
I have a Rockola #6201746. Can anyone know if these are the correct parts for that range?
-High wood stock with RMC in sling well and RRA stamp. This is a refinished stock for sure, so just wondering about the high wood and RRA stamp.
-Adjustable rear sight with 'H' in a shield.
Thanks!

I believe 620xxxx Rock ola is from the end of their contract in Mid 1944, so would not have had a high wood stock. It should have a low wood, RMC marked oval cut stock. Adjustable rear site with H in shield is listed as one of the two sights for that serial range, the other being IRCO. RRA must stand for one of the arsenals that did re builds, but I am not finding anything on it right off the bat.

Thanks for the reply!
Another thing I noticed... The front sight does not have any markings I can determine. Is there a correct front sight marking for this serial # range? I am reading 'RP' and 'R', but not sure if no marking is correct...
Thanks again!

Be careful what you replace. The rear sight may or may not be original. The stake marks should tell you what you need to know. I will link you to the following thread. Best regards,

Dbarn,
Front sight definitely has -O- staking on both sides. It also has a high wood oval cut stock. Are we thinking that the -O- was only done by Rock-ola and the RMC oval cut highwood could be correct?
Are there staking marks I should look for on the rear sight?
Thanks

Yes and Yes. Look closely at how the rear sight is staked. Look for evidence of flip sight stake marks. These would most likely be on the right side of the dove tail inner edges and appear more like hash marks. Move your adjustable sight all the way to the left and look at how staked. If original should be smaller round punch marks. If from rework will most likely be large round crater marks, but not always. Pictures would be great.

See link to pics on front and rear sight. No hash stake marks, but the circular ones look pretty deep.
On the rear sight there appears to be a faint 'U'... maybe Underwood?

Thanks for the pics. Nice looking Rock-Ola. The type 2 front sight appears to be EU for Underwood. Possibly latterly supplied. Those are the type of pin stake marks Rock-Ola would use though I have also seen them on some rebuilt carbines. Regarding the rear adj. sight, there appears to be additional stake marks other than for the adjustable sight, likely indicating a flip sight previously. Very good chance the stock is original to the carbine. Are there any markings on the type 2 band?

The type 2 band has a '/' on the left side.
