That's USGI park; the Greek is nearly jet black & wears easily. The mtal appears perfect; the stock is in well-above average fro a Greek return. You have a very nice rifle!

I'm very pleased to have gotten a Greek return with both the USGI park and a walnut stock.

My (5) M1icon books and various tools and goodies arrived in the mail from Fulton Armory yesterday. Can't wait to sit down and start reading.

I think it's a long M14icon sling also, at least that's what I have been told in the past. Nice rifle! BB

Picked up an M1942 bayonet at the gun show a few weeks back. It's a cut-down 1943 American Fork & Hoe, also stamped AFH for the modification.

I always told myself I wanted an M1icon bayonet and not a cut down 16"...but whoever did the work on this one did a beautiful job. The blade was so nice that I just had to get it instead of the crappier condition M1 that was the same price on the seller's table.

I know it's too early for my '54 Garand, but I like it!

Yesterday I also found a full 192 round Lake City ammo can in enbloc clips and bandoliers dated Jan. 1967. (9 months before I hit the scene!)

I bought the repo sling from CTD. (and yes, I've got it turned around the right way now!)

    Talking

I think you are right about the letters on the stock are part of a name. I don't recall any Greek Word "PAPADO". Anyway it is a good looking rifle.

I picked up a Collector Grade Greek return about 4 years ago. I would have to say it is 90-95 % new. Very little use, I guess my "cousins" over there took good care of some of our rifles!

    Best Regards, Nikos
