I asked that yesterday. One of those attached links is Riverbank in Modesto, Ca.

Badger answered the question on the attached link. I realize the forum is expensive to operate and I certainly appreciate that the use of it is free to all of us. Just seems a little strange to have a sponsored link to a dealer in Riverside on a “Collectors Forum” such as this. I used to think Google was the best out here, however it seems the search engine (Google) executives leans very hard to the left. For my part I will start using Yahoo.

Most of us know about George.............
Lets just keep passing the word to other collectors about his type of products.

I'm looking at this as our chance to make some $$ off George.

    Regards,
    Charlie-painter777

    Hello folks ...

    Please read the announcement ....

Google Ad-sense (Beta Testing) - Military Surplus Collectors Forums

We don't provide any ads. They are generated by Google.

Here's a comment I left in our private moderator's forum, which I'll repeat here for everyone else's benefit …

The ads are provided by Google and obviously George and his company PAY Google as an advertiser and we don't get anything from George. The Google Ad-sense box even says "Ads by Google" ...

Having said that, we are an open site and encourage discussion about bogus auctions, live or otherwise, as well as healthy discussion about dealers who may be screwing over our members.

So, if anyone else wants to start up a thread and present information about dealers to avoid (as perhaps appearing in the Google Ad-sense content), backed up with some form of empirical data or personal experience, we have no problem with it, as long as it isn't just one of those general "well, he's an a$$hole ... " gripe sessions.

Thanks for everyone's support and understanding while we trial and beta test this possible revenue generating idea, to help pay for our site.

    Regards,
    Doug (Badger)

    Doug,
I apologize if I wasn't clear enough with my post.
I didn't mean to imply that this site was receiving funding from George.
I'm just glad to see George paying Google...... who in turn can help cover expenses here.

    Hi Charlie ...

I understood your point and my comments weren't directed at you specficially, or anyone else. They were generic and designed to convey the point that we do need to seek forms of revenue to support the site, just as Vic at Gunboards and other gun sites seem to be finding a need to do.

It just amazes me that we can't even find anyone to volunteer to be something as simple as a Calendar monitor, thus earning free "Contributing Member" status for themselves, by helping us to post regional gun show dates etc ....

Appreciate your support in answering the hundreds of questions we get on here about U.S. arms, of which I know absolutely nothing ...

    Regards,
    Doug

Charlie, as usual you speak with good logic. Sometimes I have difficulty thinking outside the box and take too much for granted.
Heck I might try volunteering for one of the things Doug mentioned. Who knows I might qualify for something useful as long as too much is not expected.

Still think George might be using this to "rub it in".

Talking Many things appear good or bad....

...depending upon the point of view you have.

I for one have little trouble with him paying out money to help support a sight that helps spread the word to the masses of the world about what he has done and continues to do.

    Chris
