    Deutsches Sportmodell .22

Can anyone give me a value for this barreled action with bolt?
And any other pertinent info as to maker or scarcity etc.
    Thanks in advance,Ian

Check the Germany - Milsurp Knowledge Library (click here)

There an entry for 1934 "Banner" Mauser (Mfg by Mauser Werke AG, Oberndorf a/N) (click here)

The markings you have appear to be firing proofs often seen on Mauser Werke AG, Oberndorf a/N rifle.

    (Click PIC to Enlarge)

Crown "B" = single definitive proof with black powder proof charge.
Crown "U" = inspection after proof.
Crown "G" = indicates firearm firing a bullet.
Crown "N" = indicates proofed using smokeless/nitro powder.

The BUG were generally applied to guns from about 1924 to 1934, although later rifles may have them.

Murray House Militaria (click here) is carrying a brand new book just released called "The Mauser Archive" by John Speed (click here). It may have direct information on it. If anyone orders this, make sure you ask for your 5% MILSURPS.COM member's discount.

As to value, I have no idea. I guess to be of any value it either needs to be re-stocked in the correct way, then sold, or you'd need to find someone who has the stock and badly needs the action.

You might want to post an "auction" in the Quartermaster Stores or for a wider audience, perhaps on GunBroker.

    Hope this helps a bit....

    Regards,
    Badger
