    Krag Bandolier and Ammo?

    Hi,
I posted previously in the M1903 forum and with some info I learned I'm posting here.

I’m new to the forum and must confess I’m not necessarily a collector of militaria. I do have a few items that came down from my Grandpa, to my dad, to me.

I have this bandolier of .30 caliber Remington ammo. The bandolier has six pockets with a shoulder strap. 2 of the pockets only have the slotted cardboard left in them. One is mostly full of ammo but open. The last 3 are still stitched shut. "RBruce" in the M1903 forum suggested this may be for the Kragicon rifle based on the 1898 stamped on the bandolier? Makes sense but welcome more info.

I also have one full box and a 3/4 box of .30 caliber practice rounds. The rounds are in clips. 5 rounds per clip, 4 clips in a box originally. "RBruce" said these were likely M1903 rounds.

I was hoping to establish a value as I have an interested party but am uneducated. Any further input or info is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Alex

you might want to track gunbroker and auctionarms for a while, see if you can get some comparable prices. I've seen ammo similar to what you have there occasionally. don't know that I've ever seen any of the blanks, though.

what do your "practice" rounds look like? are they inert, or something different?

    good luck!

The blanks are not inert. I called them "practice" rounds as I assumed they were for drills or training. After doing some reading I see they are mostly likely for salute. They are in the pic (in the blue boxes).
    Thanks,
    Alex

that would make sense. any idea what you'd like to get for them? It would be fun to have some.

I would like $50 for everything shown.

I was hoping to sell to someone that could pickup. I know it can be done but am a bit nervous about shipping live ammo. I'm in Southern WI.

I also have an old cigar box full of other antique cartridges including a couple pin fire rounds. I'd be interested in selling those as well.
    Thanks,
    Alex

If not sold let me know and I'll take it. My kid lives in Milton so it'd be a short trip.
