I gave my radio set to a friend, but it had no Key- just the basic box w/ dials- think I paid two hundred for it some time back. One also needs headphones, mike, wires, an antenna of some sort (different wires) and a wooden box for the whole kit. Then you're talking real money.

Try the Japaneseicon forum down the page a bit. There's a few fellows around who have all the radio stuff in their memory banks, I just have a book somewhere that I haven't seen in years!

Find someone who speaks and reads Japanese

I had a couple of Zero Compasses and that helped me a lot. The tag will tell something.

Translating japanese isn't so much hard as it is SLOW(Really, really slow at first!) for a non-reader. I did quite a bit of translating during the N1K2 Shiden-kai restoration project in 1994-95 that's now at Pensacola.

But finding a Japaneseicon person to translate for you is a better option if only for the entertainment value- they often enjoy seeing these old relics.
However, many areas have very few Japanese. My region, fortunately, isn't one of those.

Post this over on Japaneseicon Gun Boards. A guy by the name of Edokko will translate it for you. I saw this on another board and seems like they said it was not Japanese writing. riceone.

Thanks, I have taken it to the Japaneseicon Embassy, for a translation, and they told me the writing only indicates the name of the manufacturer of the key, not the particular ship.
