Selling and Mailing U.S. Military Items Outside U.S.

Does anyone know if it is legal to sell and mail an item, such as a USM8 scabbard to a resident of a foriegn country?

    Thanks, Greg V

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Greg,

(This is only from a novice international shipper, OK?)

Each country has their own rules and regulations about what can be imported.
(I wouldn't think a scabbard would be a problem anywhere, but you never know)

I swear that sometimes it's up to the person who's doing the 'check-in' and how he interprets their rules, or what kind of mood he's in.

I sold a few items to Europe when I sold for a little while on eBay and I left it up to the buyer to find out if the item was restricted. I never tried to sell gun parts, but sometimes, some countries would restrict some things that you'd not think would be a problem.

In the end, I quit shipping to Europe completely, followed shortly by not selling anything at all. Just too much of a hassle and worry.

Thanks for the info. I don't sell a lot of stuff on ebay. When I do sell U.S. Military items, I always put "U.S. SALES ONLY", but I always get someone asking if I will ship somewhere else. I got to thinking that maybe a scabbard would be OK. I think you're right though, it's just easier not to.

It may sound like tough love, but I agree- don't sell or ship outside the US. Not too long ago, as a favour I shipped some tupperware ammo boxes to a friend still stuck up in Kanada......as I still enjoy pulling wings off flies, I put "gift- Plastic Ammunition Boxes" on the Customs Declaration.....sure enough: seized at the razor-wire. Kanadians get really upset with FleaBay transactions from US to Kanada when KanadaKustoms get involved, and either add duty charges or seize the shipment.

HERE'S A LITTLE SECRET that WILL HELP

This stupid American Insularity re shipping anywhere more than two states away shows nothing but an almost total ignorance of anything other than US law.
Regarding CANADA (NOT KANADA) Customs all you ever had to do was write TUPPERWARE BOXES (NOT AMMO BOXES which let any antigun snivel servant screw you over and reject the parcel)and IF the value is LESS than $25 the morons FINALLY figured out that their idiotic OVERPAID snivel service bureaucRATS are LOSING money if they even think about trying to collect ANY TAXES on amounts less than probably $50 but $25 just to be safe.

With all the slagging I see about things like "KANADA" I really get to wondering WHY we send troops to Afghanistan in support of what is in reality an AMERICAN WAR.Look how much appreciation we get with the BS your dumba$$ed government are continually laying on Canadians and Canadian GUN OWNERS in particular? So now we ALSO see forum members making what amounts to insults as well.

The United States is doing what amounts to an EXEMPLARY JOB of alienating every REAL friend it ever had.I gave up on e-pay on account of their never ending CHISELLING and making their(4 pct)PAYPAL mandatory for all payments was the end of it all.My BANK told me NOT to get involved with PAYPAL and included a LONG list of atrocities committed by PAYPAL.BUT before that it was the insularists with USAicon ONLY sales that peed me off.Get the message kids. The SUN DOES NOT RISE AND SET ON THE US of A ALONE !! There actually IS a WORLD out there you see.

For my sins I do most of my work offshore and also speak a few OTHER LANGUAGES other than English. The standing joke overseas is this.A person who is TRI-LINGUAL speaks THREE languages. One who speaks TWO languages is BI-LINGUAL and a person who speaks ONE language is AMERICAN.

Really,IF you want to maintain ANY standing with the rest of the world(the ones who DO NOT have their hands out for your now nearly ALL spent money I mean) you would best be advised to start thinking about OTHER nations points of view and feelings. The US would be literally screwed without the more than 50 pct of your petroleum IMPORTS that come from Canadaicon. We CAN sell that oil anywhere we like for MORE MONEY TOO, but; you see the likes of Bush Jr referring to "SECURE" oil supplies from CANADA.Perhaps you should REMEMBER that we are NOT bound to sell OUR oil to the US and with the attitude that is being showed re "KANADA" and that ******bag Napolitano and Fat Knees Klintoon referring to the Sept 11 Terrorists having entered the US through Canada(an OUTRIGHT BLOODY LIE JUST LIKE THE HILLABEAST flying into Sarajevo under"SNIPER FIRE" was deemed as her having"MIS-SPOKEN" and not having committed and outright LIE).

Canada just does NOT need all this ingratitude NOR the insults either thank you ! We have lost 146 soldiers and 2 civvies fighting an AMERICAN WAR and we STILL have Hillabeast coming here wanting MORE CANADIAN TROOPS ?
WHY SHOULD WE ? Look at the appreciation we get ! We don't have our hands out for American Aid and are not clients to anyone. My advice is to START realizing WHO your friends are before you lose ALL OF THEM.

Most likely prohibited for export as most "military goods" are these days. In other words, generally not worth the hassle.
