All the RMC Test carbines look that way.

Brian, I think everyone is fishing for a little bit of your knowledge... Can you share a sea story or can you give us a hint if its even in the newletters?

I'm not Brian, but I believe Rock Ola Test #8 was in one of the last news letters. The pics were even in color! It was in the March 2010 newsletter and Test 3 is a know example.

Same font on both. Interesting that on the TEST 3, the 3 is below the word TEST. On the TEST 8 it follows the word TEST.

Yes they looked the same #8 also did not have rock-ola above TEST, #3 did.
I need to look at NL#323 and look at the article on #9 and read what they have to say about TEST R-O's #'s 1, 3, 7, and 9. I wish I had the cash, I would have thrown my hat in the ring on it, but oh well not enough money.
I wonder what Rock-Ola was testing. I have read about other rifles the manufacturers used to test various parts and proof fire items. It seems as if these R-O's are in good shape and some were given away as gifts, so whatever they were testing could not have been hard on them or cause a lot of wear.

I guess it would have helped had I opened the last newsletter.
Anyone care to venture a guess as to this carbines value?
Thanks for the shared info,

Charlie, for those of us left so broke by ex-wives that we can't pay the club dues right now, yes, I will venture a guess.... For a genuine Test weapon with proven papers - how about the neighborhood of $7,500... Am I close?

No way to answer that one........
Will have to wait to see if Roger or Marcus grab it.
Then we'll know how much it's worth $$
A Thanks to Brian and USGI collector for their help,
