    A closer look at my Lee Metford MLM MkI* rifle built in 1889. Introduced in 1888 as the Magazine Rifle MkI, it was upgraded in 189 A closer look at my Lee Metford MLM MkI* rifle built in 1889. Introduced in 1888 as the Magazine Rifle MkI, it was upgraded in 1891 to use the new smokeless powder instead of the original black powder. This is the first English bolt action, magazine-loading service rifle, and is the grandfather of the later .303 Lee Enfield Riflesicon. A gem!
