    Just bought a Saginaw SG

Just picked up this Saginaw SG on GB. Price looked fair as well as the gun. Just mailed off my payment and C&R. My next restoration project. First one in about 4 years. Going back to the classics for awhile after 3 years of BRD. 18 ARs will last me for a while!

    Shady,
Even for that Thompson?? You have one don't you? Or am I mistaken....

I just finished up my IBM project and grabbed a 4 mil NPM this past Sunday at a Mcdonalds parking lot of all places. Thanks to BrianQ's info, I jumped for joy after sliding the bayo band and finding the NPM punch mark on the Marlin barrel. He said it should be on it if used by NPM. No P proof but a nice punch mark all the same. (Thanks Brian)
The seller's Father inlaw had bought this carbine in the early to mid 60's. He thought it may have been from the NRA, he hadn't heard of the DCM. After setting a selling price the seller threw in 12 in the wrap 15rd mags... Of which I haven't opened....itching to, but haven't.Lots of mixed parts including a beautiful SJ stock lo-wood. I can't make out more than probably 10-15% of the CC stamp, if that. But do have a pretty nic NPM lo-wood to set it in. I'll be looking for a NPM bolt, safety and magcatch. The rest I think I'll keep as issued.
Maybe just me but I hate the flip safeties.
Just wanted to add, don't want to steal away LE's spot light. Just nice to see him back.
    LE,
I just noticed a SG flat bolt among my bolt box, think I have a SG (might be S'G' or both) firing pin and extractor also for it, just incase you find a NPM bolt stashed away. Now have another RMC bolt that came in this NPM with what I think is original blued finish. I think that makes 3 extra RMC bolts. Haven't checked internals on all.

While speaking of veteran members... Has anyone heard from or about CBR... Chair born ranger?
Been thinking about him, hoping he's doing well.

    Good Weekend to ya'll,
    Charlie
