Questions about a Quality Hardware M1 Carbine

I assume someone tried to mount a scope on this M1. Check out the drill holes in the receiver. Has anyone seen this before?

Also, can anyone identify the markings on this stock?

Slingwell RSG, or whats left, shame about the receiver. Is it a good shooter?

Have not taken it out yet. I just got it, so I want to strip it down and clean it up before I take it to the range.

Weaver used to make a mount that would attach to a carbine like that. Same type mount that was used by Universal.

You can fill the holes with filler screws. I have done it and it is much better than the holes showing. Make sure they don't go measurably into the bolt groove. You can file them down if they do. Make them flush with the receiver then red locktite the screws. It will make you feel better about the carbine!
