Why does the alternative word for a cat (pus*y) just come up ***** - is it a 'naughty' word ?
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

In the US, yes, it can be. Sort of like "waffle" in NZ, apparently.

If the spring was weak, your rifle would not be able to "break loose" the fired casing from the chamber walls. (I really MUST fab up a checking tool similar to Son's military armourer's multi-function spring gage. Thanks again, Son. -BTW There's a not too old thread that has multiple photos of said device.)
The slightly smaller ones I've seen a lot of pics of lately were a bit later model, used for the SLR/ FN FAL and others. Although the spring gauge is still on the list as current, (couple at work) digital force gauges have replaced them. Then there were the ones made for Central, who made range sights and other bits for target shooters. These were a little smaller than the originals too.
Seeing as Peter's failed calibration the other day, maybe I should check mine! It's well past the retirement age...
