Arrow She's finally all together, but there's too much snow on my deck!

    Check it out.

    Pretty standard eh?
    Well here's the kicker...

It's a run of the mill Walther "ac44" no-letter block G43. All matching original action. Unfortunatly I had to replace the ruined original stock with a repro, but it is a beautiful stock set.

The rifle is old news, it's the scope rig thats new.
The scope is an original wartime "dow" ZF4 made in Nazi occupied Czechoslovakiaicon.
The mount is also a post war repro, but fit and function are perfect.

This is my shooter G43, I had recently picked up a very nice all matching example to replace it with, but when it arrived and I disassembled it one of the matching locking lugs was split in two.... luckily the fellow I bought it from understood and took it back.

As soon as I can get a shooters-kit for this one I hope to take the whole rig to my 300yd range, although I've heard that the ZF4 scopes can be somewhat delicate. I do have a spot picked up on my property where I've got about 700yds of visibility (need to bring a rangefinder to confirm), maybe I'll just try the 700yd configuration on the open sights instead

I think it looks great skippy Make sure you get the gas system upgrades before letting it rip. As for the scope, can you get a repro for shooting?

For a repro stock, that set looks great

Talking Wow! I'm with Badger on this.

Well done, very well done. I would think snow on the deck would have been a great disply what with the jacket as a pad. But I also understand not wanting to expose the just finised projet to the elements.

I always had a passion for a new G43 and would speed weeks inspecting them and so regret not having a modern camera in those days. I have a few Polaroids some place but they don't do well on the scanner. Still bummed I sold them off for that kidney.

Makes me want to dig out what I have left, I had great luck down loading ammo after launching a few extractor retaining pin and springs into the younder. I still spare extractor sets in each rifle.

Can I save some copies of your photos?

    Cheers
    MJ

    Very nice work Tyler

My g43's sadly dont have enough clearence from the stock to the rail to fit a zf4 base, so I sold off my scope.

For a repro stock, that is simply gorgous. BTW, do you need a cleaning rod for that one as well?

    Claven,
I definatly need the new gas kit before firing, this rifle is actually the early model gas system which has the tendency to shoot itself to pieces, so I wouldn't risk shooting it without.

I know a guy who hunts with his original G43, and I cringe everytime I think of it.

    MJ,
Actually you're right the coat on the snow would have made a nice display, when I pull everything out to do some proper pics I just might do that.
As for the pics, I don't think there is anything I can do to stop you from saving them, at any rate I don't mind.

And Sigismund, I am indeed in need of a cleaning rod for this one as well, but I didn't want to impose on your generosity

Good call on the early gas system. I have a broken one of those to prove it.

Ill put in another rod with your package Tyler. I bought too many it seems. All the rifles I keep buying all come with rods in place.
