    03A3 Front Sight Pin

OK... I've read threads on the subject but there's got to be an easier way.

I'm using sufficient force to bend the 1/16" (tapered) punch, even used a nail finisher to try and get it started.

I've got some penetrating oil on it now hoping that was the missing link.

    Suggestions?

Check carefully, sometimes the ends of the pin are peened over... formed kind of like a half assed rivet.

remember,,left to right out,,,right to left in...if its too bad, you will have to cut it off, and replace it.

    Chuck,

Thanks for the information. I should have mentioned I was going left to right to remove. The penetrating oil has helped. I was able to drift out the base pin (ended up drifting it back) and got the blade pin to move a little. A few more drops of oil last night and I'm going to work on it a little more today.

I'll post pics once I get her back into USGI config.

ETA: the penetrating oil worked... imagine that (should have done it first but didn't even think about it in my haste to put her back together).
