    Well, since you insist.....

Well since i got the following, I do have a question to ask:

    Hello Light Infantry,

It appears that you have not posted on our Military Surplus Collectors Forums in several months. To clear this message, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help someone else who's asking a question, or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our forums?

Anyhow, looking for a ballpark value of a Spanish Calvary carbine. One of those that has the wood all the way to the muzzle. 7x57. made in Spain not Germanyicon. also, was this action a 98 or a 93, or 95? I know you need a better description for an actual piece, but all i am looking at is a ballpark of what this type of example would go for.

    Thanks

    LI

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. I'm not that familiar with the ones made in Spain, but I do know the ones made by Loewe can go for quite a lot. I think your Spanish made version would be more a lot more common and probably of interest to the very serious Mauser collector looking to round out a very wide and deep collection.

Guns America - Spanish M.1893 Mauser Carbine (click here)

    $1,795.00 U.S.

Very scarce, early Spanish M.1893 Mauser saddle ring cavalry carbine! Made by Ludwig Loewe, Berlin in 1894, as indicated by markings on the receiver. Espanol Modelo 1893, Manufactura Loewe, Berlin". Spain ordered in Germanyicon 70,000 M.1893 rifles and 5,000 M.1893 carbines. Today, the original M.1893 Spanish Mauser carbine is very difficult to find! CONDITION: Very good+. The carbine is in its original condition and was not refurbished by Spanish arsenal. Metal has about 85% of blue, turning to uniform brown patina. Cal.: 7 x 57mm, rimless. For more info please visit our web site.

Here's an ad for one I found on CGN ....

Spanish 1916 Carbine Mauser (click here)

If you can't view the advertisement, it's probably due to the fact that you have to subscribe to the EE (Equipment Exchange) forums on CGN in order to view them, or the ad has been deleted.

    Seller says:

    Good day,
For sale is a well worn Spanish 1916 Carbine Mauser.
    Calibre - 7 X 57mm

It is in fair condition, it has the original stock that has been refinished at some point. The barrel is also in fair condition. It is missing the cleaning rod. The metal looks to be all matching.
It may be a good project gun.

The asking price is 125.00 plus shipping.
EMT is the preferred method of payment.
    Hope this helps somewhat...

    Regards,
    Badger

Probably a 93. Value depends a lot on condition. If nice and matching, maybe a $350 gun or so. You'd have to test the market. Carbines typically go for a lot more than rifles.

If it were a Leowe, ti would be worth considerably more.

Last summer I came into a sporterized Spanish made Mauser. I was going to re-build it into the Military configuration but ran into a few problems, the treads on the barrel were not metric nor sae, extreme set back led me to do a rockwell and it was as soft as cold rolled steel, I reassembled what I had the cut and milled it into a working tool room model. Its been very helpful in explaining things to my customers. SDH
