    Hi Chris,
    Regarding the strap thats even more interesting than I thought. I have a dowel plug in the top guard and had no idea what that was from, now we know.
    That spring is a cut down from a spring thats a stock part of enfield no1 mk3 parts, its either that screw/spring that comes up from under into that band that floats halfway along the barrel or similar location, ez for me to reproduce.
    Inside the guard I have three springs bearing down on the barrel. They sure took this part of it pretty seriously.
