A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Wide locking tang found on S.G. carbines (also on Auto Ordnance sub contract receivers).
Rear of the receiver, where the recoil plate locks on.
Most other makers have the narrow locking tang.

Starting to sound like $450 is good price, plus you will save FFL and shipping by the FTF purchase. If you do decide to buy it, you got to post some pictures.

Saving Transfer Fees, Shipping, Delivery Confirmation, Tracking, Taxes in some cases and Insurance.
Seen some sellers asking for $100 to ship. With Insurance, Confirmation, Packaging and Handling and the cost of the Fee charged by their FFL if your FFL won't accept by a private seller EXTRA. Have seen some FFL dealers charging $75 for a transfer. Adds up fast.
Then hope it gets there !

    bob34787,
Any pictures you could post that we can look at?
Now you've got us all interested in seeing it !

If I can't grab a new one for myself. It's still a good feeling knowing someone may be scoring !

Plus FWIW, I've seen some Import marked carbines fetching over $500+.

    Again.......... Best of Luck,

    Charlie-painter777

Is that true, that SG used only SG barrels? Warbaby lists INLAND, BUFFALO ARMS, and UNDERWOOD as alternates (over unspecified serial number ranges).

By far the most common barrel found as original to the receiver on Saginaw Gear S.G. carbines will be Saginaw barrels.

P.S. Some say they ONLY used SG barrels............... I just don't want to go that far.
