    no HV mark?

    my new 1909 smle has no HV mark on the barrel, so i was wondering if it was ok to shoot mkvII ammo in it?

    The HV mark indicates it is sighted for the MkVII "high velocity" rounds. Not having the mark just means the sights will be a little out in the range scale. Go ahead and enjoy- just remember the range report and pics

    barleycorn foresight ?

    Attachment 14967Did you check your front sight to see if it is one of the barleycorn variations ? if you BSA 1909 is without the HV or SC markings on the barrel, you might have the early front sight.
