    Smile Bayonet value?

    Hi everybody.
In the attachment you will find some pics of the US M5 Bayonet & M8 Scabard. The bayonet is made by 'Imperial' and the scabbard by 'B.M.Co.'. Sadly the bayonet tip is damaged but I read this happened quite often and led to the introduction of the US M8 A1 scabbard with a metal tip. I was given the bayonet from an American who retired from the U.S. Army in the 90's. He was in Korea and later Viet Nam and told me that this bayonet was a souvenir he kept. I kept it for years but since I am neither a real collector nor do I have a Garandicon rifle I hardly have any use for it. Can somebody tell me if it is of any value and how much can I ask for it if I would offer it for sale?

    Regards
    Thomas :-)

The bayonet and scabbard are in pretty rough shape. I see no value to a collector. Someone may be interested as just a utility knife.
