    CMP out of M1 Carbines

It was fun while it lasted.

They will have some "junk" barreled receivers for sale before too long.

The average price of a carbine might start going up a bit too. Maybe time to pull some out and sell them.

Jim, if you are selling from your gun locker, I better get my credit card paid off first. Of course you could just open the vault and turn your head for 15 minutes....

Great point, this also has resulted in the drastic price change in everything they sell, save Garands and Carbines.

Jim, I know what you collect. Do you know anyone who collects old postage stamps from "downunder". Cheers, Mike.

    Mike,

The Philatelic guys I know my age (61), concentrate on US items. To bad, there are some nice items from other places, but you can only expand your resources so far.

It would be interesting to know what others collect besides Carbine's.

    Other items for me are:
    Knives & Bayonets
    Canvas items
    Pistols
    Revolvers
Baseball, Football (American), Basketball, Hockey, and Golf cards. Concentrating on Willie Mays items.
Mechanical Razorblade sharpeners from 1890's to 1950's
    Stroppers
    Coins
    Pocket watches
    Shell Oil items
Pinball machines (down to 4 from 17)
    Harley items
    Other odds and ends
    Wee Forest Folk

My wife complains I have too much stuff and don't display any of it, so why keep it. Hummm, women. But as retirement nears, might be time to start retrieving the invested money in collections. My daughter died in her teens so no kids or grand kids to hand them down, and NO, not looking to adopt anyone.

    Jim
