Pellet gun experts ? (Need help with Crosman M70)

One of those "bolt-action" CO2 powered types modeled after a real rifle. Gun was handed to me for "fixing", it is leaking gas somewhere (audible hiss when you put in a new CO2 cartridge).

Current own would like to fix it so his son can use it (kid is coming to age).

Is anyone familiar with those whom could give me an idea how they come appart I've seen pellet/bb guns that seem to come appart like glorified Chinese puzzles in the past so I figured I'd ask before I start backing out screws and drifting out pins.

Chances are you won't have the part even if you find the trouble. Sounds like a trip back to Crossman would be the answer.

The idea for me now is to troubleshoot the leak, if it's just dirt-related then a good cleaning is likely to at least improve the situation. If I find any broken or worn parts then the gun will likely be scrapped. Basically the idea here is mostly to find and somehow plug the leak in the gas system.

The weak link of most co2 or pump air guns is O rings. If it's the 70s rifle, it may have split one somewhere. If you Google the model number you may be able to find an exploded diagram and parts list. You might try posting this on Crosman or American vintage air gun forums.
