    Removing Varnish Or Shellac

I have recently aquired a Ishapore MKIII that I need to remove the crappy varnish or shellac from the stock and at metal receiver band. What is the best thing to use for this process? I'll Get some pics up once I figure out how too.

Antique furniture or other very good quality paint stripper. It will also pull a lot of oil and dirt out of the timber and every time I do it they look really clean when finished.

My favorite. It will not harm the finish under the shine.

Easy Off is very hard on softer woods. India used a relatively soft woods(luann or phillipine mahogany), so would not recommend using it
