    Thumbs up Happy Anniversary !!

    Happy Anniversary everyone ...

Today marks the end of our fourth year since we began this small adventure into providing a web site dedicated to detailed reference and research material, specifically focused on various genres of old milsurp collectibles.

To be honest, when we originally brought this site on-line, it was more for personal enjoyment and interest, than any idea it would become as popular as it has. What has been most surprising is the level of international interest from countries all over the world. All one has to do is view our Google map of members on-line now (click here), to get a sense of the widespread appeal of milsurp collecting world wide.

We now have well over 13,000 registered members, plus average an additional 4,000 guests logging on every 24 hours. Our on-line Knowledge Library contains over 20,000 detailed pictures covering about 150 different milsurp related entries, spread across 20 different countries.

So, why has the site become so popular over the last 4 years?

Well, besides the terrific support of the collector community who come back regularly to check for the latest MKLicon entries, do some research, or just ask a question of other collectors, we would like to thank our Advisory Panel (click here), who unselfishly contribute their extensive knowledge in helping other members, by answering their questions and constantly helping to vet and maintain our on-line Knowledge Librariesicon.

Although the Military Surplus Collectors Forums are FREE to everyone interested in these old milsurp firearms, some members have graciously chosen to voluntarily donate a nominal amount of money, to help defray thousands of dollars in annual system bandwidth, server, disk storage and maintenance costs. We wish to thank those Contributing Members (click here) and sincerely appreciate their ongoing financial support.

Finally, we would like to extend our personal thanks and appreciation to our founding partners Stevo and Claven2, without whose guidance in developing the concept and many of the MKLicon entries, we wouldn't have been able to do this at all. We'd also like to thank our moderation staff, Amatikuluicon, Bob Womack, Bill Hollinger, cafdfw (Harlan), Andy, diopter, Gibbs505, Jollygreenslugg, louthepou, No4Mk1(T) and sdh1911, as well as Skippy for his graphics creativity and assistance in sprucing up the look and feel of the site.

We are open to suggestions as to how the site can be improved, or if you have a specific question that you think would make for a good topic of a permanent article, please direct it to one of the Advisory Panelicon members, or one of the moderators listed HERE.

Thanks again to everyone for all of the support.

    Regards,
    Doug (Badger

    To be honest, Doug,
I never knew of this forum's existence until you rescued us Culvericon's members left adrift. When I came here, this place just felt like an old established place with a bunch of great folks.
Congratulations on what you've accomplished in a short time.
    And many, many thanks.......
    Phil
