Information for Charlie Painter 777 on QH 1.6

Charlie, Checked the stock on the 1.603xxx QH; the inside of the sling recess is stamped RMC than a B not a P. On the other side is a small (.50 inch ? ) crossed cannon stamp 7 1/4 inches from the buttplate. Pistol grip flat has a large D and a small 2 which is a rack number, this stock is high wood

Robert, Scott is right. The B in the sling well and the small CC would be for an early IBM (stock made by Rock-Ola).....Frank

    Thanks RCS,
As I told you in the message I had just stumbled on that old post in which you asked about the proper rear sight. While I was researching staking on early QHMC flip sights yesterday.
After reading your description of the I cut Hi wood having a RMC and P in the slingwell with a small CC that close to the pistol grip. I thought it was a B instead of a P.
Didn't mean to butt in but had seen no one had replied about the stock marking.
Have heard that many of the original early QHMC carbines have just RMC in the slingwell, but have only personally seen a couple.
Wasn't sure if this would be good or bad news for you but figured you should know you have a early IBM stock.
Their really hard to come by.

    Regards,
    Charlie-painter777
