    Rifle No8 Mounting Screws (PH5D)

I am going to mount a PH5D onto my No8, but need some sources for the mounting screws. I found one source in Englandicon, efdrifles, but wanted to know if any of you knew of any other sources.

Do all PH5D's mount on the No8 the same? I thought I recalled reading something about not all No8's being the same??

You could try Scott Stonehill Evans Custom Screw and Machine, Evans, Ga 706 833-9048. He does not list any screws for this sight however will make what you want. Great guy, excellent work...Scott has helped me out of a few jams.

I have been in contact with EFD and will not be able to get a quote until mid-December. They do not sell direct in the US and the contact over here is unable to get a quote until his partner gets back to Englandicon.

While I am awaiting the quote from them, I thought I would see if I can come up with a short term fix. I believe I need a 3BA and 4BA, but do not know the lengths required. Is anyone able to confirm the screw sizes and lengths?

He does excellent work and is a terrific individual ...

Here's a thread that's about 7 months old, which everyone should be aware of when contacting Scott...

Fitting the 'high' base to the No8 rifles not already drilled and tapped (4BA on the bridge - 3BA on the body) is covered in EMER SA&MG C167 Modification instruction 2. Surely these screws are available anywhere in the world aren't they? Look under model engineers suppplies on Ebay and they'll be available by the bucketfull. As for the lengths, just order .25" shank length and if necessary, just cut to length - surely................. Or am I missing something?

I seem to mentioning all this earlier somehow............
