    Lithgow Question

Came across a nice looking Lithgowicon on GunBroker but it looked as though there were three drill holes in the front of the receiver - right where the barrel would attach. Does this mean it's been scuttled, or is this normal. Can't figure out any purpose for the drill holes other than to make it a non-shooter.

Safety holes to redirect gases in the event of a cartridge breach, er, don't put yer thumb over them. I hear the magazine likes to pop outas gases get sent downwards as well, smart bit of design.
