In reference to Wheaty,s comments can confirm my recent import 1924 No1 MkV, although missing the front hangaurd and extra barrel band, the rest of the rifle is original and supports a Mag cut off with spotting hole.
Interested in anyone with a high serial number (over 5000) for the 1924 No1 MkV.
Just bought one that has a serial number of 8896 on a 1924 No1 Mk V. I'll take picture of it this evening. Mine is also missing a front handguard and such...
That is funny as I have one also with the missing handguard and band.
I have one that was "sportarized", so the mech. all works but I would love to find parts to rebuild it. Would need all the wood, bands etc... Any ideas where to start?
I'm in the process of refurbishing my 1922 No. Mark V, back to military specs, from a sporterized condition. I purchased the forend and top hand guards from the guys at EFD, but found that they had no more front bands. Most of the other parts are similar to the No. 1 Mark III. I found most of the parts that I needed at Numerich Arms (Gun Parts Corporation), and under the Mark III, there is a schematic (parts blow-up) to use in finding which parts that you need. Ebay and gunbroker.com were good sources for the top handguards (for hardware), and other parts. Only get parts that are referenced for use on the Mark III. Member, bigduke6 has an excellent restoration article on this site, for restoring the Mark V, and depending on your skills and resources, can save some money on your restoration. John
I have just bought one made in 1923 Ser# .7339 , complete rifle numbers matching ,except bolt, may be replacement :-(

I have an all matching MKV 1922 serial #51 this gun has not been tampered with at all and it has a cut-off with the hole in it.
