    1914 Colt M119 - Need Help, Please!

I am new to this forum. I recently acquired this old guy from a friend. I am retired Army, a Viet Nam vet and have always wanted a government issue 1911.

It is a Colt Model 1911, ser number 633XX, made in 1914. It appears to be original except for the barrel and barrel bushing. The bushing looks similar to the old M16 open ended flash suppressor. The barrel is marked:
    .45 AUTO
    7791193
    90
The slide is marked on the right side: MODEL OF 1911 U.S.iconARMY
On the left side, it is marked PATENTED APR. 20, 1897 COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG.CO.
Under the word PATENTED are the dates SEPT. 9, 1902, DEC. 10, 1905, FEB. 14, 1911
Under the word COLT'S is HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.
At the left rear of the slide is a Colt pony logo (no circle)
On the bottom front of the frame are the words UNITED STATES PROPERTY
On the upper rear of the slide is a small H
On the bottom behind the trigger is a small circle surrounding the letters WGP superimposed on one another

I would appreciate any information you folks may have, especially to help me find a period barrel and bushing.

Any information on the pistol or where I might find period parts will be gratefully accepted.

    Thanks!

Your Colt Model 1911 appears to be correct except for the noted problems. Sounds like the bushing is one of the Colt 70 Series collet style bushings, and the barrel is a Vietnam era replacement. The original magazine would have been a standard lanyard loop type. The barrel would be marked horizontally with an H and P on top of the chamber. Nice find.
